what is closing is of less concern

do we really want to know what’s going on beneath that sheet?

this lunation
everything every other astrologer is saying about this eclipse, I agree.
I do.
I don’t seek out other astrologers’ opinions, primarily because of avoiding the influence. i like to let my life and synchronicities influence the insights i share, often there is active synthesis happening in the gap between lunation musings.
but other astrologers tend to be more organized than i am these days and its difficult to avoid the saturation thanks to algorithms and my inbox.
Chani and her zesty Hellenistic astrology hot take, yea. I am with her in the sense of radicalizing the masses (my audience is much much smaller. I don’t Capricorn like Chani Capricorn’s.) The Chani app, weatherhuman astrologer with the penchant for high drama entertains and inspires me with the zoom ins and the vocal lilts.
And then there is Saturn + Honey, who, if you do not follow June, please advise. Her masterful poetry and wicked cut to the flesh of the matter is utterly profound. Her lens and perspective speak volumes to me.
Her particular take on the medical aspects of this lunation are hitting home for me at this impasse I am navigating.
We are all different humans synthesizing different experiences and interpreting this language through our own perceptual and insight lenses. It doesn’t matter who is big or popular (often that is thanks to banking on major tech investments) but trusting that the algorithms and the power of silicon and the internet will guide you to who and what you need.
It took me a while to trust myself enough to put my voice out there. I had to get out of my way to believe that my perspective had value (how Libra Rising of me).
That is what my advice is to you in considering this Virgo Full Moon Eclipse:
STOP. TRYING. TO DO IT. PERFECTLY.
You are wasting time.
STOP IT.
I’ll try and navigate my thoughts here as I feel there are some pretty radical aspects to this lunation I want to illustrate here.
The Basics:
We have a stellium (a multiple car pile up) in Pisces of Saturn, The Sun, the North Node and Neptune opposing the Moon and the South Node.
The connection between the Sun/NN and the Moon/SN are what make the ECLIPSE possible is through this alignment.
The Lunar Nodes are associated with fate. Weird, right? And guess what? The etymology of the word “weird?” IT MEANS FATE.
SH*T IS WEIRD. Perhaps this is pointing us towards the fated reality that when things are too perfect— THAT is when we should be suspicious. Something other than Nature is in control when things are too orderly.
Weird = Good.
TRUST WEIRD.
The South Node is the drain. It’s the “dragon’s tail.” It’s where all the processed bits, what’s been sorted to the integrated/nourishing and the waste “dump it” pile goes to flush out.
Interesting because VIRGO is associated with digestion and this is where so much sorting and processing occurs.
If I were going to attune Virgo’s energy to an animal, I would say OWL 100%. Specifically, owl PELLETS because owls barf up bones and fur. You remember this from grade school or a science museum, like WOAH whatever bits of the MOUSE were not digestible got coughed up. That’s efficient. That’s innate discernment.
The Sun, Saturn and North Node connection is our reality check. Pisces, the embodiment of hope or fear (same same, imo), has the fact checker Saturn discerning on the other end of the nodal axis— what needs to stay, what needs to go? Saturn is considered the wiser elder as much as it is what we are AFRAID of or what my momma calls a Karma signature in our chart.
The Sun shining the light on Saturn and Saturn containing the light of the Sun and the North Node are setting some boundaries on what our next karmic lessons are to integrate, leaving behind what’s been done.
The hard lesson of getting real with our life. The illusion is up, no one is coming to save us. We have to do the work to make the dream happen.
Neptune, FRIGGIN NEPTUNE, lordo of illusion OR conscious clarity may be helping us punch up. Neptune only further saturates the Pisces fog, adding to the storms, waves or hurricanes of experience while simultaneously being the glassy surface for clear reflection and perception OR the eye of the storm.
As we continue on our journey through this chart we have the Sagittarius Rising (this is from my location) pointing to JUPITER in GEMINI located in the 6th house (who’s houuuuuse? Virgo’s hoooouse). Jupiter is esoterically called “the planet of the Masters/Mentors” and the Sixth house is that of MENTORSHIP as well as esoterically being known as the house of the Masters/Mentors.
Um. This was my lightbulb moment (if there was an audio track here, a bell would be dinging).
It is in the mundane, day-to-day habits, behaviors, rituals and choices that we begin the path of self-mastery. Discipline + Habituation = Transformation.
So, um.
What kind of habits are you creating right now or what habits have landed you where you are today? There is no good/bad dichotomy here but we do have the option to EVOLVE everything we touch.
That is the VIRGO way. Not PERFECTION. But EVOLUTION. Refinement.
Virgo teaches us to love ourselves better. To love our world better. To love our shared dream together. Without Virgo, everything would fall apart. There would be trash piles everywhere, the lawn would never be mowed, the dishes would never get done. Virgo is CRUCIAL in the well being and function of our ecosystems. It is the digestion that happens before the compost, it is the integration of what is good and nourishing. It is the prioritization of what needs to be accomplished to enhance the storyline.
That is why Virgo is aligned with the term SERVICE.
When we get out of our own way, when we stop needing to do it PERFECTLY, then we have the opportunity to show up in a way that is enough for the moment.
And right now. We HAVE to show up for our world. DUMB DUMB is signing executive orders to destroy this world, this fragile democracy, to instill chaos and terror. This is SERIOUS.
I look at some of the aspects in this chart and the direct pointer to Mercury and Venus in Aries at the very base of the chart (contacting the IC in my placidus chart of my region) and, well wouldyalookat that — in a TRINE to our buddy JUPITER in Gemini — another affiliate of Mercury like Virgo.
MERCURY is a TRANS ARCHETYPE — it represents the transition point of being human — child, elder, masculine, feminine, young, old, above, below. Venus is one of the feminine principles in our planetary archetypes.
These planets, currently in ARIES and on Saturday, BOTH in Retrograde, are considered to be in their WARRIOR status.
And we have an aspect to MARS IN CANCER (Mars, affiliate of Aries, Cancer, affiliate of the Moon). My hot take on this
MASCULINE ENERGY either FIGHTING FOR or AGAINST to support or destroy Women, Children, Trans, Elder, and Disabled humans. Let’s just say between Venus and Mercury we got the DEI spectrum personified and that is under attack by Patriarchy (I wouldn’t say MARS is equivalent to Patriarchy, I would add Saturn + Mars = Patriarchy and look at that they are in a Trine in this lunation.
I haven’t even begun to mention URANUS in this whole storyline because their part in this is a supporting role. Uranus as surprise details, information? THE HARMONIOUS BALANCE OF THE OLD AND NEW as it aspects Saturn by sextile? How about taking what we’ve learned and applying it — or better yet SHARING IT, TEACHING IT. Teaching our unusual skills, perspective and experience to BENEFIT others.
WHAT A REVELATION (Uranus word there).
What would happen if we took a moment to share our skills via mutual aid workshops? Are you good with gardening? Canning soup? Do you know how to use weird antique tools that don’t require electricity? Do you know how to organize people? Are you great at hand lettering? What little gift, what little thing you have carved out in your habituations may help the greater good?
THERE IS A SOMETHING. You have a unique story to share with the world.
