Our desire for freedom, truth, visceral, unobstructed, earthly, robust, relational, and physical freedom is connecting with the part of us that may not be entirely sure of who they are or what they’re here to do.
Listen to the parts of you, those deepest wildest parts that do not seek permission but embody permissibility.
That space— potentials of willpower, desire, and possibility— can be overwhelming.
That shapeless, unadulterated space. No windows or doors, no ceilings or floors. Just emptiness.
In darkness, in unknown bounds— how do we create context? Where and what is our reference point?
Unpredictability can feel chaotic. Lack of structure can feel scary. Like a fire without a hearth, it needs to be managed: stones in a circle, bucket of water nearby, wood to chew, job to do.
A fire needs purpose. Whether it be wild or tamed.
How do we lovingly clear the space for new growth? How can we look at a blank canvas, or an empty garden and imagine what is on the other side of winter?
We can feel stagnant in the cold, dark moments of this season of darkness. The wind burns our ears and cheeks, the sunlight doesn’t feel quite real enough to provide much optimism.
This time of year is to turn within, carve out our warm nest, and use the resources gathered from the year behind, sustain ourselves until the vision of what’s before us becomes clear.
In stabilizing ourselves, in removing the distractions, the social calendar, and the pressures of tradition, we have the opportunity to reinvent our values when it comes to our personal and applied expectations of what life “should” look like.
Capricorn reflects the passage of time. The rest and reset of the cycle. The harvest collected, the garden put to bed, and the celebrations and grief of another year passed leave us with an empty slate.

Retrograde Uranus’s connection with the New Moon may provide an electric jolt to pull us from our full-bellied quasi-comas. Did your choices throughout Capricorn season reflect your personal will?
