This lunation chart made me feel a lot of things.
Firstly, noticing the Sun, Moon, Venus connection at 16’ Gemini conjunct the Ascendant (from La Paz, where I write this. FUN FACT: I always cast the chart from whatever location I’m located).
The Ascendant in astrology represents the Great Eastern Sun— the rising of consciousness, the waking of the day, the dawn.
The Sun and Moon when conjunct create the New Moon — the darkest night sky. Selene, the Moon is off with her ever-dreaming lover and we are left in the blackness.
The beginning.
its always darkest before the dawn.
Does Gemini Season make you feel new? Where does Gemini knock in your chart? On which door? Which area of your life?
Gemini, when out of balance, can appear plastic, superficial… Gemini is hollow without soul infusing the method of connection.
Neptune’s 29th degree stall in Pisces (it feels like someone is holding a VERY LONG violin note for dramatic effect in the soundtrack of our lives) highlights much of this glamour component. It can create undue jealousy, comparison, competition and overexertion in response to wanting, chasing, lunging for happiness.
I will own this viewpoint, but as someone with an observably low dopamine brain… happiness is a practice. Happiness is a choice. A way of life, rather. That in having a destination of joy, we fail to see the joy in this instant, or to play and access with spontaneity and curiosity.
If Gemini is nothing else, it embodies curiosity and childlike wonder that fuels our connection with this world and with one another.
This particular Gemini Season is its own level of Gem with Jupiter returning to this sign after its twelve year cycle through the zodiacal seasons.
Jupiter and its expansive, optimistic, seeking, visionary, hungry, excessive, boisterous, overzealous nature may be blessing, bolstering or blistering your life with its call to action.

Where were you? Who were you with? What were you doing?
Jupiter’s connection with foreigners, foreign travel, higher education, publishing is very much in synch with Gemini’s motivations— connection, synchronicity, play, language, words.
I can use myself as an example: Jupiter is transiting my 9th house (higher education, wisdom teaching, long distance travel)
In 2012 I met and fell for a Sicilian-American Virgo (Mercury ruled sign) while staying with my dearest friend who is Irish, I published and premiered a film, started graduate school. I took big, silly leaps of faith.
And I think where I am now: in Mexico, graduated from grad school, and I signed up for a Spanish intensive the day Jupiter and the Sun conjoined in Gemini. I’m also combing through an 80,000 word book in the aim to publish this year.
It’s uncanny.
I want to point out that I, as an astrologer, do not predict or plan my life in accordance with transits. I’m sure some do. I’m sure some folks are like, okay, I will make a plan in synch with this… and it works for them. I am much more interested in chaos and allow life to lead me and when I feel lost, I check the map (my progressions and transits and a review of my natal chart). I’m usually right on schedule and if something feels off — there’s a lesson there.
Astrology is reflective not causal, my friends. It’s not fate, its the universe unfolding and trusting, my consciousness is unfolding and evolving at the right pace for my adventure.
Jupiter gives us this courage to trust our journey and to have the faith that everything is going to work out.
