Aquarius New Moon

friday, february 9th, 2024, 03:59 MST

this is my identity.

there are many others like it,

but this one is mine.

To confront our destiny, we must confront our rage. To confront our rage, we must confront our past.

To make peace with the past is to make peace with chaos.

We seek predictability through training. We train ourselves and are trained by others. We train others to predict our behavior. We believe we can be predictive of others or outcomes.

This delusion leads us to believe we have power

And when we feel powerlessness against chaos

We feel rage.

We may take it out on others through individuated blame. We may take it out on ourselves through martyrdom or our false belief in our sovereignty.

What kind of antidote does it take to see we are built up of what is behind us? That our past is what stabilizes our current status?

What does that mean when the ground beneath us is sand, slippery, unstable, or shifting?

Perhaps we have found some truth, then. That all there is is now.

And the belief you have in who you are

is a fairy tale.

And that the attachment to your identity is a sham.

As we step into the year of the dragon

be audacious. practice fearlessness. Perhaps that leap you’ve been holding so close to your heart, that well-calculated wish, is ripe for birthing.

This New Moon in Aquarius is a glorious portal to the next steps on your path.

Should you choose to walk through it, know that it may hurt a little. Healing hurts respective to the wound.

The Sun and Moon conjoined at 20’ Aquarius is trine to the Libra South node, opposing Chiron and the North Node in Aries. This activation is gentle enough to ignore or an opportunity to grab the reigns of yourself.

We lose ourselves in others. Social Mirror Theory states “that people are not capable of self-reflection without taking into consideration a peer’s interpretation of the experience.

In other words, people define and resolve their internal musings through other’s viewpoints”. (wikipedia).

Libra is the human mirror where we find compromise and diplomacy in human relationships. It is necessary for any degree of fairness and compromise when it comes to human collaboration and a functional society. Aquarius holds the vision of what that society can aspire to become — one that breeds uniqueness and innovation amongst many, where our personal brand of perspective may assist the collective.

The wound then, Chiron, is being channeled to help us see who we are and what we dream of becoming. What hurts us? What is holding us back? What voice or story or narrative needs resolve for you to be the most you you can be and contribute to the whole beautiful unfolding of this chaotic existence?

Uranus square to this Lunation only amplifies the guttural scream of your identity — lost in the stream of consciousness, lost in the comparisons and the flood of lifeforms, we must simultaneously blend and individuate to survive. This cognitive dissonance of belonging and becoming is stupefying. We see ourselves in our family. We see ourselves in our childhood, our core memories. We see ourselves in contrast with others. We cringe at our reactions and automated responses deeply wired into our core content creator.

This lunation is full of blessings as much as it is tensioned. Tensions push us and pull us and press us to shift where harmonization is the innate gift we have ready to activate once called upon. Saturn in Pisces is sextile to Jupiter (DREAM AND BUILD BIG), Neptune is sextile to Pluto (DELUSIONS ABOUT POWER DISSOLVE), and Mars in Capricorn is sextile to Neptune (LET YOUR ANGER DIFFUSE OR IT WILL CONSUME)… Venus is in Capricorn trine to Uranus which can point us towards what we want and what we want in terms of integrity rather than frivolity.

We need others to hold us accountable to our community. We can’t be so selfish that we fail our neighbors. We can’t be so other-centric that we fail to find our offering to the group. What is the balance point of individuation?

Aquarius is innovative and oriented towards both the past and future. The weakness then, is maintaining a foothold in the present.

The concentrated blast of energy from this lunation can offer some deep insights or breakthroughs on what has scarred your identity. Those deep ruts in the core of our makeup feel like quicksand.

But quicksand is denser than the human body. You are slippery and fluid. Your brain has plasticity when you chart a new course and you have all the permission you need to be whoever and whatever you are.

The hope is to avoid harm in the process. To yourself and to others.

Harm is relative. Hurting someone’s feelings to avoid sacrificing your own is one tier of hurt vs. non-communicative exile or not being able to sleep at night kind of choices.

We have to be able to live with ourselves. We have to belong and “behave” enough within the group context to secure safety (we need each other). This is just part of being human. We are an interdependent species connected with all other life.

Hell is a state of consciousness. If we are living there perpetually, in a formatted lie we prolong and contribute to, we are not free. We are not ourselves. We are a pile of tangled neural pathways, of pathologies and neurosis. We are a psychic mess and will continue to seek out our shadow shit until we bring it to light.

Let this new moon provide a moment of brightness in the dark. Let it be the lightning strike to show you the way to you.
